Barça and Madrid came into matchday 31 level on points. The title race couldn’t have been more exciting and the thrilling showdown between Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo was the focus of everybody’s attention. But once again Guardiola’s men showed that they were one step above their great opponents. Barça’s footballing style prevailed over Madrid’s power on offence, Messi and Pedro’s goals gave Barça the edge both in the game and in Barça's bid to win the title. Guardiola’s triumphant cycle wasn’t coming to a halt anytime soon.
